Celebrating the "195 Collaborations" between Pringle of Scotland, the iconic knitwear brand, and the Serpentine Gallery, the London art institution, a stylish mix of artists, gallerists, curators, and fashion editors and designers squeezed onto the rooftop room of the Webster in Miami Beach for cocktails, before heading down to a sit-down dinner on the floor below.
The actress Tilda Swinton, the face of Pringle of Scotland, wore one of the 195 Collaborations sweaters that was designed by photographer Ryan McGinley. The multi-tasking lensman also directed a commercial featuring the actress for the brand's ad campaign. while Serpentine director wore one of the cardigans designed by the multi-talented Swinton.
The collaborative product line marks the company's 195-year history and includes designs by McGinley, Swinton, David Shrigley, Stephen Sutcliffe, Luke Fowler, Alasdair Gray, Corso Como, Colette, and Murkudis. Some of the pieces were available in the Webster's second floor shop, but the real focus of the night was the event itself. The hot, young artist Aaron Young chatted with MoMA/P.S.1 director Klaus Beisenbach; the dynamic fashion duo Viktor & Rolf shared some laughs with Visionaire editor Ceclia Dean; and the seasoned filmmaker Isaac Julian swapped stories with his Victoria Miro galleriest Glenn Scott Wright. Of course, all eyes were on the striking Swinton, as she graciously posed for pictures by paparazzi and adoring fans.
